I could attempt to teach online but there are already tons of places that do that. I suggest you sign up for a beginner's class - a lot of the time you don't even need a partner! Then what you should do is watch and practice practice practice! Most importantly, DO NOT GET FRUSTRATED!!! You won't become a professional overnight! keep at it, Swing is Fun!
I took a few swing classes at Clark. I've been to many "free" dance lessons before the dance started (Denise Steele used to do this at the Crystal Ballroom).
Nocturnal has free lessons before their dances.
I've also been to Seattle's Camp Jitterbug (September 2002) and in May of 2003
I'd like to have a list of all the moves I know so I can expand and share them. I'm trying to figure out how I can archive these moves.
Until then I'll just keep a list going..

Shag
- Camel Kicks
- That one cartoon like move where we both like pop out
West Coast {I don't like this dance.. it needs slow blues music}
Swing Rueda

Keep in mind that some of these dances have a variety of names (and variety of styles) but have the exact same steps. There isn't a right way to do a specific dance or the correct name to call a dance, just preferences. My preferred dance steps and names are East-coast Swing & Lindy Hop (because I practice them most often). My newest love is the Balboa.. I first saw it danced down in Florida.. and I'm constantly amazed by that dance!!
