My Favorite PDA Programs
Here is a list of my favorite PDA Programs for the PALM OS.
AvantGo
http://avantgo.com/frontdoor/index.html
This free service provides you with the ability to save 'channels' (webpages) onto your pda. So far my favorite channels are:
All the news from Reuters – US
Boing Boing Blog
SeattleTimes: For local news.
PocketLJ- So I can update my livejournal whenever I want.
The Sranger Theater Listings: For all the Seattle Plays around town.
The downside to AvantGo is that there are advertisements, but whatever man, I go strait to my favorite channels anyway.
BeatMatch v2.0
Link
At Camp Jitterbug everyone seemed to be familiar with beats per minutes of songs. This program lets you tap the beat and it tells you the bpm!
CFB Timer
Link
A quick and easy timer! Even works when the Clie is turned off.
Mañana
Link
A clone of the To Do List. I use this for long term To Do's.
Idea Pad
Link
This allows you to make a simple flowchart and export it as an outline or BMP picture!
Button Launch
Link
I used to waste a lot of time pulling out the pen just to pick an icon. This little program lets you assign more programns to your hard button keys (long or short presses)
X-Master v1.5
Link
You need this program to activate the two following hacks.
- HACK: MessagEaseKB v3.6
[X-Master needed]
Link
A wicked awesome keyboard replacement application. It is noted as being faster than graffiti and I really wanted something to make my 'typing' faster.
- HACK: Clié AudioPlayer Stylus Volume and Position Hack v1.0
[X-Master needed]
Link
This hack allows me to fastforward an mp3 and change the volume with my stylus.
PHTML
Link
This was the first 'able to read and edit TXT file program' I found. The freeware version was accidentally released with all the features enabled, but I paid the guy $5 anyway.
CheckList
Link
This is kind of like a To Do list. But you can import and export the items to memopad.
GuiPar
Link
This program helps you tune a guitar. I hope to learn some guitar basics soon.
HiBattery
Link
This program monitors how much battery power you have left.
Kinoma Player 1.5.1 for Palm
http://www.kinoma.com/products.html
This video player looked better than the given g-movie program
- Kinoma Producer 1.5.1 for Windows
[$30.00] http://www.kinoma.com/products.html
I paid the $30 to be able to convert a bunch of video clips at a time. It is useful to show swing dance clips and my short films, and 8-minute Tae-bo.
MobiPocket
Link
An e-book reader
-
Electronic Pocket Oxford English Dictionary & Oxford Paperback Thesaurus e-books
Link
I like to read e-books and use this to figure out what a word means. (Note: you have to know how to spell the word, which can be annoying)
Analoge Uhr
Link
A german made, freeware clock. It looks like a simple analog clock, but has the date and digital time at the bottom.
Plucker 1.2
Link
A good free webpage clipper. I shrunk down my website onto this thing. That was cool.
Program List
Link
It makes a list of all your installed programs and exports them to a memopad file.
Sketcher 2.0
Link
A simple drawing program. It also has an alarm function. I use this for quick notes to my self.
Sound Pad
Link
It makes a little piano keyboard where you can record and playback a little tune.
Easy Talk
Link
A quick foreign language guide. Spanish, Italian, English, French and Polish.
ToDo2Memo
Link
Exports your To Do list to a Memopad file.
VFSi
Link
Allows you to read a TXT file or a BMP file from anywhere on a Memory Stick.
GeekSounds 2.4
Link
There are so many alarm sounds on this thing now. Very cool.
Games
I actually rarely play these games, or any video games for that matter. I'm too much of an idea man, I like making lists and stuff instead.
PacMan 1.6
[Shareware] Link
Who wouldn't want Pac-Man on their PDA? I kept this shareware application because it is still good even though there are restrictions. $10 for a pacman game is a tad too steep. That $10 buys you the ability to save high scores and have more than one pac-man life. Whatever man.
Tetris-on-the-Palm 1.0
Link
I'm not too big on new video games, so this is another simple game that brings me back to my childhood.
