VAIO Laptop PCG-F540
This is my laptop.
I really don't use it all much now that I have a mac mini.
I bought it at Best Buy in August of 2000 for $2,200.
It is made by Sony.
It broke and became completely useless on October 23, 2003. Next time I'm getting a desktop. It ressurected a month later. The LCD display is shot so I had to hook it up to a 'real' monitor. Bummer, but at least it still works.
I love this laptop! It can play DVD movies and has a video out switch! I have a I-link to hook up my Video Camera. This allows me to do video editing! This also has a large screen (14.1 Inches!).
Pre-installed software includes a limited Adobe Premire 5.1 and all sorts of other stuff and (my favorite) a PDF Writer printer Driver. I absolutely love the PDF writer! It makes everything look so professional.
This laptops drawbacks are the short battery life (about two hours- which used to be ok compared to some other brands), the slow start-up and the lack of memory (only a mere 6.0 Gigs).
I bought enough RAM memory to max it out to 250mb. I also bought an additional battery so I can watch DVD movies wherever. The best program for this is WinDVD
I also have a *.pdf Information sheet of all of its features that I got off of the Sony website a while back.
